Case 04 · Buying intent

Be in the thread where someone asks for a recommendation.

“Anyone know a good alternative to X?” is the highest-intent sentence on the internet, and it is answered by whoever shows up first.

You hire him. He reads the public internet. You keep the judgement.

Our analytics bill tripled. Anyone know a cheaper alternative that still does attribution?

    Complaint

Most of this never enters a dashboard.

Outbound interrupts people who were not thinking about the problem. Recommendation threads are the opposite: a stranger has publicly asked to be sold to, and the window is measured in hours.

  1. 01

Alternative and recommendation threads are high-intent demand.

  2. 02

A useful reply can create trust before a sales call exists.

  3. 03

Competitors often win simply because they saw the conversation first.

Three plays

Ways to turn mentions into work.

  • Watch the alternative queries

Add “alternative to <competitor>” and “looking for <category>” as their own monitor. They behave nothing like brand keywords.

The mention includes the full thread link, so you can read the context before replying.

  • Alert to the phone, not the dashboard

An email alert on high-urgency recommendation threads beats checking a feed twice a day.

That’s the missing piece in our growth stack: something that actually watches Reddit for buyer questions.

Order and method

Track the keyword.Act on the signal.

  1. Drop a buying-intent keyword.

Track alternatives, recommendations, pricing questions and competitor comparisons buyers post before they choose.

  2. We find live buying threads.

HerculeRadar scans public conversations every four hours across X, Reddit, YouTube, LinkedIn and Threads.

  3. Warm opportunities rank.

Recommendation requests, switch intent and pricing frustration rise above the rest of the feed.

  4. Act on the opportunity.

Thank, reply, or correct on the original thread — or hand the URL to sales or an agent. We do not post for you.

A letter of retainer

How Buaro keeps this brief

“A stranger has already asked to be sold to. My task is to put that sentence on your desk while the thread is still warm.”
— M. Buaro, Consulting listener
  • Watch “alternative”, “recommend”, “vs” and competitor names as their own monitors.
  • File buying intent above the rest of the noise.
  • Alert you — or your agent — when a recommendation thread is still live.

Questions about growth monitoring.

01Is this spam automation?

No. There is no auto-reply feature and there will not be one. We find the conversation; a human decides whether it deserves an answer.

02Can I monitor competitor names?

Yes — that is what the Competitors monitor group is for. Their complaints are usually your best leads.

03What does HerculeRadar monitor?

Public mentions across X, Reddit, YouTube, LinkedIn and Threads for the keywords you put in a monitor: product, brand, competitors, founder name, feature names, or the phrases your customers actually use. Active monitors are swept every four hours.

04Do people need to tag my account?

No. Matching is on the keywords you track, so a conversation can mention the product without ever tagging you.

05What counts as a mention?

A public post, reply, thread or comment that matches a tracked keyword or alias. Duplicates are collapsed so you are not reviewing the same signal twice.

06How do alerts work?

Email, Telegram or a signed webhook when a mention matches a rule you set — category, urgency, source. Nothing is auto-replied.

07Can an AI agent watch this for me?

Yes. MCP and the API are on every plan, including the trial. A webhook can fire on mention.created; the agent reads the rest through MCP with the same permissions as the dashboard.
